During the year, w e have 2 seasons,   Indoors and outdoors for shooting archery.  That gives the archers 2 ways to continuing growth within the sport.  Indoor season and Outdoor season are separated by their own lanyards, points and scoring system. From time to time at tournaments, you will see archers carrying 2 different color lanyards usually on their quiver. Some might have more if they choose different types of equipment. In  Indoor season it is easy to earn their first pins. They shoot a short distance from 10 to 20 yards. The archer only shoots one distance indoors opposed to outdoors where the archer has to master longer distances such as 30, 50, 60, 70. That gives the archer time to grow and achieve the impossible. That is right, Archery is ranked the lowest sport for injuries from the National Safety Council Statistics.    The Junior Olympic Archery Development (J.O.A.D) is a program designed for youth ages 8 - 20 years of age to teach Archery on a recreational or competitive level. Each Archer has the ability to learn different equipment types for shooting, proper form technique, safety, focus, self-confidence, team building, strength building, mental conditioning, achieving goals, and to compete in tournaments. Kids under the age of 8 are eligible to compete in these programs.
